Potluck No. 1
A while ago I decided that I would periodically make the odd frameset with no specific customer. It would be a chance for me to stretch my legs, try different things while trying to keep the result recognisably Clandestine.
This is Potluck No.1
It’s probably the most trad frame I’ve built, which was fun. It’s a classic 700c roadster, with a lugged fork (!), plate dropouts with filed points (!), rim brakes (!), decaleur like I’m pretending to be French in the 1950’s (!). Of course it has my usual dynamo lighting/mudguard setups, and a handmade stem with recessed bar clamp bolt. The front rack was made wider than most randonneur racks, so as to match the footprint of the Berthoud handlebar bag, without having to add extra stiffeners to stop it sagging over the sides of the rack like more traditionally shaped ones.
This was a fun project, and confirmed to me that Potlucks would be something I’d like to keep doing in future.
