Greenlaner on bikepacking.com
I was stoked when Logan from bikepacking.com messaged me to ask whether I could write something for the site about Jim’s Greenlaner. They’ve been pushing a manifesto of sorts for All Terrain Bicycles, a sort of pragmatic, upright bar off roady kinda bike. It’s something I can really get behind, and is fundamentally the sort of bike I specialise in making. A lot of the Carriers I make I think of as ATBs, and a fair enough number of my full custom bikes like Jim’s.
Anyway, it was really nice to have the opportunity to explain a little of the process of designing and building Jim’s bike. I got to rifle around in the undergrowth of British mountain bike history, and that’s always fun.
